The first step to joining PerformX is to attend one of our free Discovery Days.Discovery Day is the only pathway into our programs. It gives your child the opportunity to experience PerformX, meet our Mentors and take part in a session before we consider an enrolment offer.Our programs are in high demand and class places are limited, so Discovery Day sessions may not always be available.You can view and book any currently available free Discovery Day sessions using the link below:If no sessions are currently showing, it simply means we don’t have a Discovery Day open for booking at that time. New sessions are released throughout the year as places become available.

A PerformX Discovery Day is the first step to joining PerformX and the only pathway into our Academy programs.It is a warm, welcoming introduction to PerformX where young people can experience our teaching style, meet our Mentors and get a genuine feel for what being part of PerformX is like.During the session, students take part in fun group activities across singing, acting and dance. There is nothing they need to prepare in advance we want to see how they participate, respond to direction, engage with others and approach something new.Although Discovery Day forms part of our enrolment process, it is not about being the best performer in the room or delivering a perfect audition. We are looking for qualities such as curiosity, courage, openness and a willingness to have a go. Students are encouraged to express themselves and enjoy the experience regardless of their previous training or confidence level.Discovery Day also helps us make sure PerformX is the right fit for your child and that they are ready to engage, participate and grow as part of an ensemble and our wider creative community.Most importantly, we want children to leave feeling that they have been supported to try something, be brave and discover what they are capable of.Discovery Days are free, however places are limited and sessions may not always be available due to demand.

After each Discovery Day, our Mentor team reviews the students who attended and considers their readiness for the PerformX program, along with the places currently available within their age and program level.Families will then be contacted by email with an outcome.If we believe PerformX is the right fit and a suitable place is available, your child will receive an invitation to join the program. The email will include everything you need to review and accept the offer and secure their place.Because PerformX classes are capped and our programs are often in high demand, attending a Discovery Day does not guarantee an immediate place. If your child is suitable for the program but we do not currently have an appropriate position available, we may offer them a place on our waitlist and contact you when an opportunity becomes available.There is nothing you need to do immediately after Discovery Day we’ll be in touch with you once our review is complete.

If your child is offered a place following Discovery Day, you’ll receive an email from PerformX with everything you need to join the program.Your offer email will include the relevant class information and clear instructions on how to complete enrolment and accept the place.Simply follow the steps in the email to complete your enrolment and secure your child’s position.If your child is suitable for PerformX but there isn’t currently a place available in the appropriate class, you may join the waitlist instead.Once a place becomes available, we’ll contact you with the information you need to complete enrolment and join the program.As class sizes are capped, places are limited and availability can change throughout the year.

PerformX uses an offer-based enrolment process because our programs are intentionally capped and we have limited capacity to open additional classes.Before offering a place, we want to make sure there is an appropriate class available and that each student is ready to engage with the program and get the most from the experience.PerformX is not simply a performing arts class. We are an empowerment-based personal development program that uses singing, acting and dance as the vehicle for building confidence, courage, communication and self-belief.Because of that, the environment we create matters enormously. We want every class to be a space where students feel safe to participate, take creative risks, support one another and grow. Our Discovery Day and offer process helps us protect that environment while ensuring new students are joining a class that is appropriate for their age, readiness and stage of development.Importantly, offers are not about finding the “best” singers, dancers or actors. We are looking for students who are ready to participate, try, engage and grow within the PerformX community. Where a student is ready to join but a suitable class is currently full, they may be invited to join our waitlist until an appropriate place becomes available.

Generally, no. PerformX programs are designed as structured programs, with students building skills and performance material progressively from week to week.Because our classes work as ensembles and places are capped, it is very unlikely that we will accept a new enrolment once a term has commenced.All new students must first attend a PerformX Discovery Day, which is the only pathway into our programs. If a suitable place is available, any enrolment offer will usually be made for the beginning of the next term so your child can start alongside the rest of their class and receive the full program experience.In limited circumstances, PerformX may determine that a mid-term start is appropriate, but this is assessed individually and cannot be guaranteed.

PerformX operates across four school terms each year, with our program calendar generally aligned to the Victorian school term calendar.Exact PerformX term dates are communicated to enrolled families in advance and are also available through the PerformX App.New students will usually commence at the beginning of a new term, following attendance at a PerformX Discovery Day and receipt of an enrolment offer. As our programs are in high demand and class sizes are capped, a place in a particular class or term cannot always be guaranteed.Before each term begins, enrolled families receive the important dates and information they need for the term ahead, including any workshops, rehearsals, performances or other program commitments.
